Children should be at least 3 years old by September 1st of the year they enroll for their first year.

Preschool Classes (3,4, and 5 year olds)
are from 8:45am to 11:45am on either Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday.
* We do have children in this age range who attend all 5 days of the week in the morning but we do not offer a five day class. If you are interested in enrolling your child five days please let the Administrative Director, Allison Poole, know and she will be happy to discuss this possibility.

Our Kindergarten Class (children 5 years old by September 1st and developmentally ready) attends school from 8:45 am to noon Monday – Friday.

Our 1st grade class (children 6 year old by September 1st and developmentally ready) attends school from 9am to noon Monday – Friday.

Yes. Because of our health and sanitation guidelines; preschool children should be potty trained when school begins. However, our school embraces the developmental needs of each individual child and, therefore, we realize that potty training is a personal journey. If you are concerned that your child may not be fully potty trained when he/she begins school, please do not fret or concern your child over this matter! Share your concern with our School Director, Jennifer McCarville, she is here to help.

We will 34 children in the whole preschool class (3-5 year olds) with 5  teachers and a parent volunteer (aka: “Parent Teacher”). Children are multi-age grouped for most of the school day and break out into smaller groups for small group table time lessons each day.  In the Green House (kindergarten and first grade group) there are 20 children and 2 teachers.

Marvelously Made has an amazing community of school staff and parents who come together to support the children’s learning. In the preschool classes we have five teachers who work daily in the classrooms with the children. The kindergarten/first grade class has two  teachers and 20 children.  Parents who have completed training also join us as volunteers on most school days.

MM is a creative place to work, play and learn! The children paint, mix water with sand, and participate in other “messy” experiences every day they attend school. Most of the products we use claim to be washable but (just in case) you should send your child in clothes which you are not concerned about becoming stained or soiled. Tennis shoes are the best choice for footwear. In the event a child’s clothing becomes wet or heavily soiled each parent needs to keep a clean change of clothes for his/her child in the child’s tote each day.

Additionally, we do go outside in all kinds of weather!  If it is not lightening or freezing and windy we allow the children to go outside. Please always send a coat with your child when the weather is cool. Rain boots and rain coats are always welcome on rainy days! Be sure to label all of your child’s belongings.

Yes, parents send a snack each day for their children to eat at school. Guidelines will be provided to parents at the start of each year which will include a list of acceptable snacks in order to accommodate children with food allergies. Children bring food items only (the school provides water). Snacks are expected to be healthy and should consist of fresh fruit or a vegetable each day.
